Gensler's are to create a 320m observation wheel in Moscow which is set to be the tallest wheel of its kind in the world. The wheel will offer spectacular panoramic views of Russia's capital.

Located in in the Vorobiev Hills, the wheel will be in the company of other iconic landmarks, such as the Moscow State Circus and the historic Saz Theatre.

The wheel will be called the Moscow View and will be erected at the highest point of the region, towering 220m above the ground at its pinacle. The wheel will be the centrepiece of a planned commercial complex that will include culture, entertainment and retail venues.

In order to preserve surrounding parkland areas the project's components will either submerge underground or be elevated.

Passengers will journey upwards in 48 enclosed capsules that will rise dramatically out of a pool, which is planned to be utilised as a public ice rink in the winter months.
